Amjad Karim
Amjad
is an experienced management consultant with business
process and carbon emissions modeling expertise. He
helps clients gain a clear understanding of their
energy usage and carbon emissions before developing
abatement options based upon changes to business
processes, new technology or sustainable local power
generation.
Originally trained with PA Consulting, he has managed
several high profile projects for a variety of clients
including Transport for London, Royal Bank of Scotland,
Homeserve and Barclays.
Amjad holds a Masters in Modeling Biological Complexity
from UCL and a Bachelors in Mathematics from Imperial
College London

Pete Thompson
Pete
has been working in the fresh produce sector for over
10 years. From a farming family, he has developed a
broad base of experience within all sectors of the
fresh produce industry, both in the production base and
in customer facing roles. A committed environmentalist
he brings a strong knowledge of sustainability issues
to bear on the commercial realities of food production
in the 21st century.
Having graduated from the University of Reading with a
BSc in Horticulture his roles have encompassed the full
spectrum within the sector; for market leader Mack
Multiples, serving the multiple retailers, to small
companies developing niche lines and bringing them to
the marketplace. In today’s global market he has worked
overseas and in importing produce. He has considerable
hands on experience in the wholesale and food service
sector and is Commercial Director of a successful
business, growing and marketing fresh produce to
leading companies in London’s wholesale markets.

Khalid Kadir
In
2005 and 2006, Khalid served as the Projects Director
for the UC Berkeley chapter of Engineers for a
Sustainable World. As Projects Director, he oversaw
five projects focused on providing technical solutions
to social and environmental problems. In 2007 Khalid
was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to study water and
wastewater treatment in Morocco.
Khalid received his PhD from the University of
California at Berkeley in Civil and Environmental
Engineering. The focus of his dissertation was pathogen
removal in natural water and wastewater treatment
systems. In addition to the technical focus of his
work, Khalid studies the broader implications of water
and wastewater treatment and how these relate to
international development and poverty alleviation. In
this vein his work focuses on the role of expertise in
water related development projects and how "expert"
knowledge plays a role in the politics of planning.

James Anwyl
James
has 10 years experience in architecture, sustainable
construction and project management. With his unique
blend of hands-on experience and creativity, he designs
and delivers carefully engineered solutions that reduce
our clients’ energy usage and GHG emissions.
He has recently completed the design of one of the most
innovative zero carbon homes in the UK and has been
awarded the Happold Scholarship for Sustainability and
Construction, supported by Buro Happold, The Company of
Constructors and the Chartered Institute of Building.
James has trained as a BREAM assessor of Industrial and
Domestic (CfSH) buildings, has designed and built
in-house SAP software and is qualified to install solar
thermal and grid connected solar PV.
